Sevier County Sheriff’s Office deputies are looking for the man who is a suspect in a stabbing attack that left one woman dead and another injured.

Deputies are seeking Josh Carr, 30, of Seymour, in connection with the attack that killed his mother and injured his grandmother, according to Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief Michael Hodges. Carr is considered dangerous and might be armed.

“Our focus right now is to get him in custody,” Hodges said. “The search is still ongoing and we are working with local, state and federal agencies to find this suspect.”

Hodges said the stabbing was reported at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday at 1767 Bluff Mountain Road between Seymour and Rockfor.

First responders found Carr’s mother, Pam Carr, 56, with multiple stab wounds. “She later succumbed to her wounds,” Hodges said.

Carr’s grandmother, whose name has not been released, is being treated for non-life threatening injuries that occurred during the attack, Hodges said.

Deputies have obtained warrants for aggravated assault and a homicide warrant is pending.
